On The Rocks have been playing together in various incarnations since 1994, although most of the band have been friends since they were teenagers in the late 1970's.

OTR play all sorts of music from the 1960's (and sometimes drifting into the late 50's or early 70's), from rock'n'roll to pop and rock, including favourites from the Beatles, Stones, Who, Faces, Monkees and Shadows to name but a few.

Since forming in April 1994 to play 'one off' gig for the Light House Church in Stubbington, the band has been through various line-ups, changing from six to four to five-piece... and with a few 'guest vocalists' joining in for special occasions.

After original bassist Martyn Sandford the band left in February 1997, Colin (who was up until then then playing rhythm guitar), played bass for one gig before Pete Marsh agreed to stand in as temporary bass player. Pete played just two gigs with OTR, after which Colin permanently made the switch to full-time bass player. Keyboard player Jennie also left in February 1998 and OTR became a four piece, with Paul doing his best to cover both lead and rhythm guitar parts. Alan joined as Rhythm guitarist in Sept 2002, returning the band to a more balanced 2 guitars, bass and drums line-up.
